Kiran is a multi-cultural, secular, and community-based domestic violence organization. We work towards raising awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence in South Asian homes through outreach and advocacy, while also facilitating access to community services through a robust infrastructure built upon collaboration with mainstream agencies. Our mission is twofold:
(1) to promote self-reliance and empowerment in South Asian survivors of domestic violence, and
(2) to engage individuals and communities to live safe, healthy, and productive lives.
Operating in Raleigh since 2008, we are passionate about promoting healthy family relationships in South Asian communities and raising awareness on the prevalence of domestic violence in South Asian homes through outreach and advocacy.
Kiran is able to do what we do best by collaborating with various other organizations. We are funded by state and federal organizations such as Governor's Crime Commission and NC Council for Women, and private foundations such as United Way of the Greater Triangle.
