Job Description - Client Services Coordinator
(Part-Time/20-25 hours a week)
Kiran seeks a part time Client Services Coordinator to provide case management and crisis counseling services for victims of domestic violence. This is a one year grant funded 20-25 hours per week position with possibility of extension in employment based on grant fund availability.
This position will fulfill the following job responsibilities:
Provide phone and walk in crisis counseling , provide case management including follows up with clients for legal, immigration, medical, financial, housing and other resources
Maintain, update and coordinates services and outside referrals for clients
Coordinate client communications (telephone and in person) with attorneys and accompany clients to courts, attorney offices, law enforcement offices as necessary and provide transportation assistance to client if required
Maintain all client documentation for case management and crisis counseling
Volunteer oversight including but not limited to volunteer recruitment, making crisis line schedules, back up assistance on crisis line, tracking volunteer hours, volunteer participation in Kiran events, calling quarterly meetings for volunteer services, assist in training sessions for volunteers, staff and other groups as necessary
Prepare and compile data/survey sheets and written reports as required for grant reports
Create and update client resource and referral materials.
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, handle crisis situations individually with quality decision-making skills
Ability to work within a complex, fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
Work at Kiran outreach events, many of which are on evenings and weekends
Reports directly to the Client Services Manager and carry out any other duties as assigned by the Client Services Manager.
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in social work, psychology, education, or other human services related field, knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault and women's issues
Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals from different nationalities and ethnicities
Verbal proficiency in at least one South Asian language and willingness to have this verified by the interview team
Volunteer or work experience at a non-profit or community based organization, experience with providing counseling to individuals in crisis situations in a face-to- face setting or through a crisis hotline is preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Well-organized, detailed, self-directed, highly motivated, with strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, other desktop applications, and general office technology
Must be located in the Triangle area of North Carolina or be willing to relocate at own expense
Ability to work flexible hours is required (including some evenings and weekends)
Ability and willingness to travel to attend conferences, trainings, and other events as required
Must have a U.S. driver's license and car
Must be willing to occasionally travel instate.
